Florida Gulf Coast University outfielder Jessica Rouse has been named the Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division II National Player of the Week for the week of Feb. 20-26, the association announced Wednesday. 

Rouse played an integral part in FGC’s 8-0 run that included victories over preseason No. 6 LeMoyne, Nova Southeastern, Palm Beach Atlantic and Mercyhurst. 

Over the eight-game span, the junior from Jacksonville, Fla., hit .565 (13-for-23) with four doubles, three triples, one home run, 12 RBIs and 11 runs scored. 

Rouse reached base at a .642 clip while also tallying a pair of sacrifice flies and five walks. Her slugging percentage registered at a stellar 1.130. 

On the year, Rouse is hitting .465 with three home runs and 17 RBIs, and she has reached 15 times via walk to just three strikeouts as the Eagles have amassed a 14-3 record.
