Salisbury junior pitcher Erika Brittingham has been named the NFCA Division III National Player of the Week for games played February 21-28.
Brittingham went 2-0 in two starts with a 1.00 ERA. She pitched her first collegiate no-hitter in a 4-0 win against Roanoke and then followed that with a complete game 9-2 win at Methodist. Both games were played at the Methodist Early Bird Tournament.
Brittingham struck out 29 batters in 14 innings pitched, walking none and allowing just three total hits. Her opponents’ batting average this week was .070.
At the plate, Erika was 4-for-7 (.571 batting average) and drove in two runs for the No. 9 Sea Gulls.
