CLEARWATER, Fla. – On championship Sunday in the NFCA Top Recruit Tournament at the Eddie C. Moore Softball Complex in Clearwater, Fla., the Sarasota Heat (6-0) and the Windemere Wildfire 16-U Stutsman (5-1) were the big winners, securing the titles in the 18-under and 16-under divisions, respectively.

 

The Sarasota Heat topped the Tampa Mustangs-Boynton by a 4-1 total, while Windemere Wildfire Stutsman raced past the Florida Force, 9-5.

The other winners in the event included: in the 16-under Silver bracket (Gold Coast Hurricanes beat the CF Blazers, 4-2), in the 16-under Bronze bracket (Tampa Mustangs-TJ topped the FL Fusion, 5-2), in the 18-under Silver bracket (Tampa Young Guns beat Team Mizuno-Morgan, 13-6), in the 18-under Bronze bracket (Wagner’s 55 Sports defeated Bartow Intimidators, 7-5), in the 18-under Copper bracket (FL Premier beat Southern Shockers-Keith, 4-0).

Overall, 56 total teams participated in either 16-U or 18-U action at the NFCA Top Recruit Tournament. For final results from both pool and bracket play at the event, please click HERE.
