Southeastern Oklahoma State slugger Kylie Ferguson has been named the Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division II Player of the Week for the week of Feb. 27-Mar. 5.
The junior hit .650 (13-for-20) on the week as the Savage Storm put together a 5-1 mark and moved to 19-3 on the season.
During the West Texas A&M/Holiday Inn Lady Buff Classic, she paced Southeastern at the plate, going 9-for-14 for the two days with three home runs and eight RBIs.
She helped put the Savage Storm on top against St. Edward’s with her third home run of the season that capped a 2-for-3 game with two RBIs and two runs scored.
Ferguson propelled Southeastern over the host squad with a perfect 3-for-3 plate performance that included the game-deciding grand slam in the sixth.
Despite going 1-for-3 against Western New Mexico on the tournament’s final day, she rebounded with a 3-for-5 plate performance in a loss to nationally-ranked Midwestern State that included her third home run of the tournament, a double and two RBIs.
Not only did she excel at the plate, but in center field as well, where she had a 1.000 fielding percentage and four assists to the catcher.
On the season, the Ringling, Okla., native is second on the squad with a .442 average while pacing the team with five home runs and 20 RBIs.
