Stanford pitcher Dana Sorensen has been named the Louisville Slugger/NFCA National Player of the Week for the week of March 22-29. 

Sorensen, a senior from San Diego, went 4-0 last week to lead the Cardinal to the title at the Stanford Classic. She gave up just two runs in 31 1/3 innings pitched and struck out 56 opposing batters. 

Against Fresno State, Sorensen threw eight innings, striking out 12 in Stanford's 3-2 win over the Bulldogs. 

She tossed another complete game against Hawaii, giving up just two hits and striking out a season-high 15 in a 1-0 win. She scattered five hits in a complete game, 5-0 win over Illinois. 

Sorensen came in to pick up an important save against Brigham Young as Stanford prevailed 7-5. She threw a perfect final 2 1/3 innings and struck out four against the Cougars. 

Saving her best for last, Sorensen tossed a complete game no-hitter in the tournament finale against Hawaii, as Stanford took the title with a 1-0 win over the Warriors. 

On the season, Sorensen is 15-4 with a 1.14 ERA. She has struck out 167 batters in 129 innings pitched, and has had a hand in nine shutouts.
