Shamrocks (Va.) head coach Tommy Orndorff and assistant coaches Al Anch, Mike Bures and Heiskell Gray have been named the 2002 Speedline/NFCA Travel Ball National Coaching Staff of the Year.

The Shamrocks posted a 60-6 record in 2002 and finished first at the PONY Softball 18-Under National Championship with a 10-0 mark. Including the Pony Nationals, the Shamrocks recorded first-place finishes in six of nine tournaments in 2002. The Shamrocks also placed third out of 91 teams at the Boulder Independence Day Tournament, posting a 12-1 record at Boulder.

The Shamrocks staff will be recognized as the 2002 Speedline/NFCA Travel Ball National Coaching Staff of the Year at the NFCA National Convention in St. Petersburg, Florida, in December.
