Liz Swary, senior first baseman for Washington University in St. Louis, has been named the Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division III Player of the Week for the week running Mar. 21-28, the association announced Wednesday. 

The Cleveland, Ohio, native hit .562 in leading the Bears to a perfect 4-0 mark on the week. She collected nine hits in 16 at-bats with a double, triple, four runs scored and seven RBIs. Collecting a hit in all four games, Swary extended her hitting streak to 22 games, the second-longest stretch in school history. 

She went 3-for-5 with an RBI and two runs scored in a win against MacMurray. Against Illinois Wesleyan she went 1-for-4 at the plate with an RBI. She had a pair of hits with three RBIs in a win over Wartburg, while the team’s victory over Centre was paced by her perfect 3-for-3 outing that included two RBIs. 

On the season Swary has netted a team second-best .468 in leading the Bears to a 21-game win streak that includes 17-straight victories. She leads the team with three home runs and 30 RBIs on 36 hits.
