Texas-Tyler freshman Joey Cronin has been named the Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division III Player of the Week for the week ending March 14, the association has announced. Cronin helped lead her team to a 5-1 week, including a third place finish in the gold bracket at the NFCA Division III Leadoff Classic in Panama City Beach, Fla.
The Celina, Texas native was named Leadoff Classic Most Valuable Player after a monster week in which she extended her hitting streak to nine games and had an RBI in eight of nine, including wins over Cortland State, Willamette, Lake Forest and Christopher Newport, all of which are ranked in the most recent NFCA Division III Top 25 Poll.
