Texas-Tyler junior Stacy Shepherd has been named the Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division III Player of the Week for the week ending March 28, the association has announced. Shepherd helped the Patriots to their third consecutive No. 2 ranking in the most recent NFCA Division III Top 25 Poll, including an American Southwest Conference victory over No. 1 Louisiana College.
The Houston native went 2-0 in three starts against LC, Texas-Dallas and Hardin-Simmons. Shepherd allowed just eight hits and four runs over 17-1/3 innings of work and recorded 12 strikeouts.
