Jaime Clark and Nina Lindenberg each hit bases-loaded triples to lead USA Blue to a 10-0 victory over Netherlands Antilles Tuesday in the Pan Am Games Qualifier at Maracay, Venezuela. USA improves to 6-0 with one pool play game remaining before the playoff rounds.
Clark tripled with the bases loaded, then stole home on a double steal to spark a four-run first inning. Lindenberg hit a two-run double in the second, then added a bases-loaded triple in the fourth to give her five runs batted in. Lauren Bauer and Nichole Thompson scored three runs apiece for USA. Starting pitcher Tia Bollinger allowed two hits through four innings, striking out six. Jennie Finch retired the side in order in the fifth. USA concludes pool play Wednesday at 5 p.m. (EDT) against the Bahamas. Playoff rounds begin Thursday, with the championship game scheduled for Saturday.
