Maracay, Venezuela -- The USA defeated the Bahamas 12-0 Wednesday to finish as the only undefeated in its pool at the 2001 Pan Am Qualifier. The USA will now advance to the playoff round to face the No. 2 seed in pool B at 5 p.m. today (Thursday, August 2).

Jaime Clark drove in four runs with a pair of two-run homers and Toria Auelua went 3-for-3 with three RBI to pace the offense. Nina Lindenberg added a solo home run. On the mound, Jennifer Sharron and Courtney Dale combined on a one-hitter. Sharron struck out eight in four innings and Dale retired the side in order in the fifth.
