University of Texas-Tyler senior second baseman Lindsey Peters has been named the NFCA Division III Player of the Week for the week ending March 9, the association announced Wednesday.

The Shreveport, La., native guided the No. 2-ranked Patriots to a 4-0 record at the tough annual American Southwest Conference cross-division tournament. Peters went 8-for-11 on the week, with 11 RBIs, eight runs, six walks, three home runs, two doubles and no strikeouts. The senior second baseman finished the week with a .727 batting average, a 1.727 slugging percentage and an on base percentage of .824.

In the March 8 contest against Mary Hardin-Baylor, Peters set two school records. By hitting two home runs, Peters became just the third player in UT-Tyler history to hit two or more home runs in a single game. Peters' six RBIs against the Lady Cru tied her own record, set in 2005 against LeTourneau, for most RBIs in a game.
