Wartburg senior shortstop Cari Kinzenbaw has been named the Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division III Player of the Week for the week of April 10-16, the association announced Wednesday. Kinzenbaw is the second Knight to receive the honor, as Amy Daniels was named player of the week for Mar. 27-Apr. 2.
Kinzenbaw slugged 1.462 during the week and had four multiple-hit games on her way to helping the seventh-ranked Knights to a 4-0 week. She is currently on a seven-game hitting streak and also a string of five multiple-hit games.
The Ladora, Iowa, native took over the team and Iowa Conference lead in batting average during the week at .472.
