University of Missouri-Rolla sophomore Holly Weinberg has been named the Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division II National Player of the Week for the week of Mar. 6-12, the association released Wednesday.

Weinberg hit .545 as she helped the squad to a 6-0 mark and 15-1 start to the season. She was 12-for-22 with four doubles, one triple, four home runs, 12 RBIs and eight runs scored.

The St. Louis, Mo., native helped Missouri-Rolla to a sweep of Lincoln University by blasting four home runs in the two-game set. In the opening game, she belted a two-run home run in the fifth and followed with a grand slam the next inning that secured the run-rule victory.

Weinberg delivered all four of the team’s runs in the second game of the twin bill, hitting a solo home run and a three-run shot to finish the two-game set with the long ball cycle and 10 RBIs.

She concluded the week with a four-hit outing and a pair of two-hit performances in the Missouri Southern Classic.

On the season, Weinberg is hitting at a .400 clip with four home runs and 22 RBIs.
