VANCOUVER, Wash - After opening its 2011 campaign at 10-2, Wentachee Valley was named as the new No. 1 team in the NWACC, according to the latest NWAACC/Horizon Air poll released by the association on Tuesday.
The Knights vaulted from fourth in the preseason poll to take the top spot from two-time defending champion Mt. Hood, who fell to fifth.
Clackamas and Lower Columbia held tight at second and third, respectively, while Walla Wallamoved up one to fourth to round out the top five.
The next NWAACC/Horizon Air softball poll will be released on April 11.
