Salisbury University senior third baseman Leslie White has been named Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division III Player of the Week for the week of Apr. 18-24, the association announced Wednesday.
White hit .588 in six games for the Sea Gulls, including a pair of doubles, six RBIs, seven runs and a stolen base.
In a doubleheader sweep of Virginia Wesleyan, she went 3-for-7 at the plate with an RBI and a run. She followed that up with a perfect 2-for-2 outing that included three RBIs and a run in the opening game of a twin bill against Washington College. She followed that with another 2-for-2 outing in the second game, scoring two runs in the win.
Against Villa Julie she 3-for-6 in two games with two RBIs, three runs scored and a stolen base.
For the season, White leads the 36-3 Sea Gulls with a .393 batting average. Her .461 on-base percentage, 33 runs, 10 doubles, 14 walks and 79 assists have been key to Salisbury’s 18-game win streak and seventh straight shutout.
