Wisconsin-Whitewater pitcher Jessica Stang has been named the Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division III National Player of the Week for the week ending April 12, the association announced Wednesday. In five appearances last week, Stang picked up three victories and two saves, helping Wisconsin-Whitewater improve five spots to its No. 9 national ranking in the NFCA Division III Top 25 Poll
. Stang's three victories included two shutouts over Wisconsin-Platteville and Wisconsin-Stevens Point; the sophomore gave up a combined four hits and one walk in 10 innings of work. She also picked up a win and a save over then-No. 19 Illinois Wesleyan, giving up just three hits and one unearned run while striking out 15.
On the season, the Minnetonka, Minn., native is now 10-1 with a 0.74 ERA.
