Lisa Fernandez recorded 16 strikeouts and tossed a one-hitter as WPSL Gold defeated Canada 4-0 Sunday at Madison, Wis., in the WPSL Tour of Fastpitch Champions. The win avenged Sunday's 1-0 loss to Canada.
Fernandez took a perfect game into the seventh inning, retiring the first 19 batters she faced before allowing a one-out double. Cindy Yan and Crystl Bustos provided the offense for WSPL Gold, driving in two runs apiece. The Tour of Fastpitch Champions resumes July 31 as WPSL Gold take on WPSL All-Stars in Plant City, Fla.
