Amanda Freed's RBI-single in the top of the 13th inning proved to be the game-winner as USA Red defeated WPSL Gold 2-1 Sunday at Easton Stadium in Los Angeles, Calif. The game was televised live on ESPN, the first ever live telecast for the Women's Pro Softball League.

Keira Goerl pitched the final 3.1 innings in relief of Cat Osterman for the win. Lisa Fernandez took the loss in relief of Michele Smith.

In the second game of the doubleheader, Amy Kyler pitched a no-hitter to outduel Jennifer Sharron as the WPSL All-Stars defeated USA Blue 1-0. Kim Maher doubled in the second inning and eventually scored on an error and a wild pitch. Sharron finished with a one-hitter.

Both games were played at the international 40-foot pitching distance. The games in the WPSL Tour of Fastpitch Champions are being played at 43 feet.
