LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Grand Junction (Colo.) Central High School’s Jordyn Hays was selected MaxPreps/NFCA National High School Player of the Week for games played Sept. 12-19.
Hays was in a zone during a pair of wins for Grand Junction Central last week, hitting .857 (6-for-7) with two doubles, two home runs, 10 RBI and a 2.000 slugging percentage. Aided by her first multi-homer game of the season, the junior catcher attributed for nine of the Warriors’ 10 runs against Grand Junction High School. She was 2-for-3, drove in a season-best seven RBI and scored twice in the 10-0 victory over the Tigers. Hays was a perfect 4-for-4 with two doubles, three RBI and two runs scored as she keyed an 11-0 triumph over Montrose. She reached base in all five plate appearances against the Indians and finished the week with an .875 on base percentage.
