LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Nashoba Regional's (Mass.) Kylie Doherty, Owen Valley's (Ind.) Taylor Monroe, Western Alamance's (N.C.) Taylor Apple, Santa Fe Trail's (Kan.) Kaelee Washington and West's (Wyo.) Aleah Brooks were named 2023 MaxPreps/NFCA National High School Players of the Week. The quintet garnered recognition for games played May 8-14.

East Region

Over three games, Doherty hit .909 (10-for-11) with four doubles, a triple, two home runs and five RBI, without striking out once. She had three hits apiece against Holliston and Groton-Dunstable and four hits, five runs and two doubles versus Algonquin.

North Region

Monroe was 14-for-16 (.875) in her four contests, with three doubles, four homers, 11 runs and eight RBI. She had two homers and four RBI versus Indian Creek and five hits against Shakamak.

South Region

Apple hit .500 (3-for-6) in games against Croton and West Carteret. She tripled and had two RBI versus West Carteret.

South Central Region

Washington shined on both sides of the ball, tossing a pair of one-hitters and fanning 27 without a single walk over 10 innings. She struck out 14 against Anderson County and 13 more versus Iola. Meanwhile, she hit .545 (6-for-11) with three doubles and six RBI on offense.

West Region

Brooks was 13-for-18 (.722) with 13 runs, six doubles, three homers and 10 RBI in two three-game sets with Laramie and Wheatland. She closed out the week with four multi-hit games, including a 4-for-4 game with four runs, four RBI, two doubles and two homers in the middle game against Wheatland.
