LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Hernando’s (Brooksville, Fla.) Madyson Lamp, Hanks’ (El Paso, Texas) Nadia Valverde and Woodland (Calif.) Christian’s  Jordyn Hutchins were selected MaxPreps/NFCA National High School Players of the Week for games played the week of March 5-11.

South Region
In two games last week, Lamp was a perfect eight-for-eight with 12 RBI and six runs scored. She registered two doubles, two home runs and a triple, contributing to her 2.250 slugging percentage. The junior third baseman registered a pair of 4-for-4 outings. Lamp hit both of her long balls, tripled, drove in eight and scored four times against Ridgewood. She roped two doubles and knocked in four runs versus Hudson.

South Central Region
Valverde hit .900, recording nine hits, three in each game, three home runs and 11 RBI. She recorded nine runs, three in each contest, and a 1.800 slugging percentage. Valverde, a junior, drove in seven with two home runs against Parkland. In a one-run victory against Eastlake, she was 3-for-3 with a round tripper and three RBI. 

West Region
Hutchins hit .917 with two doubles, a triple, four home runs, 12 RBI and a 2.667 leading Woodland Christian to three wins last week. She also scored nine times and added five innings of shutout ball with seven strikeouts. In an 11-2 win over Dixon, Hutchins was 4-for-4 with a triple, two homers and six RBI. She left the yard two more times, drove in four and doubled against Woodland. The sophomore scored three runs in each game. In the circle against Woodland, she allowed two hits, fanned six and walked a batter in six innings of work.
