LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Hailey Maestretti of Lutheran High School (Parker, Colo.) was named MaxPreps/NFCA High School Player of the Week. Maestretti is being recognized for her outstanding performance during the week of Oct. 18-24.
Maestretti powered Lutheran (29-0) to its first Colorado High School Athletic Association 3A state title. The sophomore hurler went 4-0 with a 1.17 ERA, 37 strikeouts and four walks over 18 innings of work. She surrendered four hits and held the opposition to a .067 batting average. At the plate, Maestretti hit .583 (7-for-12), launched three home runs, drove in seven and slugged 1.417.
In two three-inning shutout wins over Rocky Ford and Sterling, Maestretti did not allow a hit and struck out 17 of 19 batters faced. She fanned a weekend-best 12, did not issue a walk and allowed a run on one hit during a 9-1 triumph over Limon. Maestretti capped off the year with seven strikeouts, three hits and two runs allowed in the state championship win over University. She homered in three of the four contests, including the win over Limon in which Maestretti went 2-for-4 with a double and three RBI.

The MaxPreps/NFCA High School Player of the Week is announced on NFCA.org every Monday during the fall season. During the spring campaign, a player from each of five separate high school regions is selected.
