LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Hopkinton’s Bri Mirabile, King’s St. Arnold, Curry’s Swindle, East Carters’ Fouts and South Summit’s Peterson have been named MaxPreps/NFCA National High School Players of the Week for contests played May 2-8.

East Region – Bri Mirabile (Hopkinton (Mass.) HS)
Mirabile keyed Hopkinton to a pair of wins with her bat and arm last week. The senior captain was 2-0 with a 0.54 ERA and 32 strikeouts in 13 innings of work. She opened with a two-hit six-inning shutout of Medway, striking out 14 and walking one. Helping herself out at the plate, Mirabile was 3-for4 with a double, two triples and four RBI. In a 4-1 win over Ashland, she fanned 18 and surrendered two hits and a walk, while going 2-for-4 with a triple and two RBI. For the week, she went 5-for-8 at the dish with a double, three triples, six RBI and three runs scored.

North Region – Isabel St. Arnold (King HS – Milwaukee, Wis.)
St. Arnold batted at a .813 (13-for-16) clip with four doubles, a triples, two homers, 15 RBI and 11 runs scored. She did most of her damage in three games against Riverside University, accumulating 11 RBI, eight runs, three doubles and two long balls. In the first meeting, St. Arnold was a perfect 4-for-4 with a pair of doubles, a home run, six RBI and three runs scored. She added her second home run and three RBI in game two and closed out by going 3-for-3 with a double, triple and four runs scored. For the week, she was a perfect 11-for-11 on the base paths and slugged 1.563.

South Region – Ashlee Swindle (Curry HS – Jasper, Ala.)  
Swindle powered Curry to three wins last week, launching five home runs, slugging 2.555 and driving in 13. In addition, she hit .778, (7-for-9) scored seven runs, tossed a one-hit shutout and did not allow a run in 12 innings of work. Swindle started the week with a bang, going 6-for-6 with a double, four home runs and 12 RBI in wins over Fayette County and Cordova. She went 3-for-3 with two long balls in each contest, knocking in seven versus Fayette County and five more against Cordova. Swindle capped the week off with a one-hit shutout of Carbon Hill, striking out seven and walking one in a 7-0 victory. She also homered in that contest.

South Central Region – Montana Fouts (East Carter HS – Grayson, Ky.)
Fouts was dominant in the circle last week for East Carter tossing two perfect games and three no-hitters, while amassing 54 strikeouts in 26 innings. The sophomore righty twirled back-to-back perfect games with 12 strikeouts in each contest in wins over Paintsville (10-0, 5 IP) and Boone County (3-0, 7 IP). In her no-hitter against Greenup County, Fouts sat down 18 batters and walked just one helping East Carter to a 4-0 triumph. She added 12 more punchouts in a complete-game victory versus Ashland Blazer (2-1). Fouts chipped in at the plate with an RBI in each of her final three games.

West Region – Hannah Peterson (South Summit HS – Kamas, Utah)  
Peterson hit .812 (12-for-14) and scored 11 runs, while also going 4-0 in the circle with 38 strikeouts. She swiped seven bags and drove in six runs. Highlighting the junior’s week was a 5-for-5 outing against Granger in which she homered, scored six times and knocked in two runs. Peterson also went 4-for-4 with a double and three runs scored versus Delta. In the circle, she twirled a pair of shutouts, including a five-inning no-hitter with nine strikeouts against Delta. She fanned 11 over five innings in a 12-0 victory versus Summitt Academy, while striking out a week best 12 in a complete-game one-hitter against South Sevier (W, 3-1).
