LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Senior Alexandria Kilponen of Valor Christian (Highlands Ranch, Colo.) was selected MaxPreps/NFCA National High School Player of the Week for games played the week of Oct. 2-8.

Kilponen keyed Valor Christian to three victories last week by not allowing a run, striking out 31, tossing two no-hitters and knocking in seven runs. For the week, she went 3-0 with three shutouts, surrendered five hits and two walks, while holding her opponents to a .100 batting average.

Kilponen twirled a three-inning perfect game, striking out all nine Green Mountain batters, and going 3-for-4 at the plate with three RBI. The right-handed hurler tossed a five-inning no-hitter in her first start of the week against D’Evelyn. Kilponen fanned 12, walked two, homered and drove in three. She capped off the week with a five-hit shutout of Smoky Hill, striking out 12 and not issuing a free pass in the 2-0 triumph.
