Kansas City, Mo. - Saint Katherine's (Calif.) Addi Betts and Oregon Tech's Sarah Abramson were named NAIA Player and Pitcher of the Week for games played March 14-20.
Betts was a tough out last week, roping 12 hits, batting .706 and slugging 1.412. She registered three doubles, three home runs, 13 runs scored and eight RBI. Betts registered five multi-hit game, including a pair of three-hit performances agaisnt Marymount California. She also scored four runs once and three two more times.
Dominant in the circle last week, Abramson keyed OIT to a four-game sweep of No. 3 College of Idaho. She fanned 11 in a two-hit game-one shutout. After picking up the victory (her school-record 80th) in relief in game two, Abramson twirled a three-hit shutout in game three. Abramson now has a Cascade Conference leading 16 wins on the season and surpassed the school record with over 700 career strikeouts for the Owls.
Student-athletes were nominated for their performances and were selected out of a pool of conference and Continental Athletic Conference (Independents) award winners.
