LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Florida State’s Shelby McKenzie and Oregon’s Lyndsey Grein were named Division I Louisville Slugger/NFCA Player and Wilson/NFCA Pitcher of the Week for contests played March 16-22.

McKenzie led the eighth-ranked Seminoles with an .857 batting average, two home runs and seven RBI in an ACC sweep of Cal. She registered six hits, scored four runs, slugged 1.714 and reached base at a .778 clip. McKenzie launched both her long balls in game one, the first multi-homer game of her career. She notched multiple hits in all three contests, extending her hitting streak to six games.

Grein keyed the 18th-ranked Ducks to a Big Ten series win at RV Purdue over the weekend. The senior hurler tossed a pair of complete-game victories, shutting out the Boilermakers in the opener, surrendering four hits with 11 strikeouts and one walk against. Grein held Purdue hitless through the first five innings in the series clincher on Sunday (8 K, BB, 3 H). She appeared in three contests last week, sporting a 2-0 record with a 0.44 ERA, 25 strikeouts, three walks over 16 innings of work.

The awards are voted on by the NFCA Division I Top 25 Poll Committee, which features one member coach from each of the NCAA’s 31 conferences.
