LOUISVILLE, Ky. – For their impressive performances on the field of play this season, 371 players from 153 different programs have been chosen to the 2015 NFCA Division I All-Region squads.
The awards honor softball student-athletes from the Association’s 10 regions with first, second and third teams selected for each region. The all-region teams were voted on by NFCA member coaches from each respective region, and all the honorees now become eligible for selection to one of three 2015 NFCA Division I All-American teams.
Three programs saw all eight of their nominated players earn all-region accolades: No. 1 Oregon, No. 3 Michigan and No. 6 Oklahoma. No. 7 UCLA, No. 8 LSU, No. 14 Georgia, No. 15 Minnesota, No. 17 James Madison and No. 21 Notre Dame followed closely behind with seven selections each, while No. 4 Auburn, No. 13 UCF, No. 16 Arizona, No. 18 Baylor, No. 20 Washington, Hofstra and Marshall all picked up six nods. The third-ranked Wolverines tallied seven first-team accolades in the Great Lakes Region, while the top-ranked Ducks earned six first-team selections in the Pacific Region.
The 2015 NFCA Division I All-America teams will be announced at approximately 5 p.m. EDT on Wednesday, May 27, via NFCA.org.
