LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Oklahoma’s Jocelyn Alo and USF’s Georgina Corrick earned Division I Louisville Slugger/NFCA Player and Wilson/NFCA Pitcher of the Week honors. The duo is being recognized for their outstanding play for the week of March 7-13.

Alo’s record-setting longball in her home state highlighted a big week for the senior. With her 96th career home run in the sixth inning at Hawai’i, Alo snapped the tie with former Sooner Lauren Chamberlain for the NCAA record. For the week, the Hau’ula, Hawai’i native hit .778 with two doubles, a home run, seven RBI, six runs scored and a 1.333 slugging percentage. In the contest against the Rainbow Wahine, Alo was 3-for-3 with three RBI. She drew a total of nine walks over the five-game stretch, reaching base at an .889 clip.

Corrick continued her masterful start to the season with a 4-0 mark and 23.2 scoreless innings of work. The senior hurler fanned 42 batters, surrendered just three hits and issued one walk. Corrick, who held her opposition to a .039 batting average last week, hasn’t allowed a run in 81.1 innings or an earned run in 87.1 innings. In three starts, the four-time American Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week twirled three one-hit shutouts, fanning 14 (7 IP), 12 (8 IP) and seven (5 IP) batters, respectively. In a 3.2 inning relief appearance against Stetson, Corrick was perfect, punching out nine of the 11 batters she faced.

The Division I Player & Pitcher of Week awards must be nominated by member head coaches and are voted on by the NFCA's Division I Top 25 Committee, which consists of one head coach representing each of the 32 NCAA DI Conferences.
