LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Kentucky’s Erin Coffel and Texas’ Hailey Dolcini were named Division I Louisville Slugger/NFCA Player and Wilson/NFCA Pitcher of the Week, respectively. The duo is being recognized for their outstanding play for the week of April 11-17.

Over a four-game stretch, Coffel hit .667 (8-for-12), including .700 (7-for-10) in Kentucky’s three-game series at No. 7 Arkansas. She notched two five-RBI games last week against Louisville and the Razorbacks. Coffel launched a three-run homer against the Cardinals and added a 4-for-4 outing with two round trippers and two runs scored against Arkansas. The sophomore shortstop was flawless in the field in 17 chances (9 PO, 8 A) and finished the week with a 1.417 slugging percentage.

Dolcini limited the nation’s top-ranked team, Oklahoma, and its powerful offense to just five hits and a .100 batting average over two complete game efforts (14 innings). In the series finale, Dolcini shut out the Sooners for 6.1 innings and allowed just two hits as the No. 16 Longhorns ended OU’s 40-game winning streak. The senior hurler struck out seven and walked one and limited the Sooners to three and two runs respectively over her two starts.

The Division I Player & Pitcher of Week awards must be nominated by member head coaches and are voted on by the NFCA's Division I Top 25 Committee, which consists of one head coach representing each of the 32 NCAA DI Conferences.
