LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Oklahoma’s Jocelyn Alo and Florida State’s Kathryn Sandercock captured Division I Louisville Slugger/NFCA Player and Wilson/NFCA Pitcher of the Week honors. Highlighted by a record-tying homer and three top-25 victories, the duo is being recognized for their outstanding play for the week of Feb. 14-20.

Alo had a monstrous week at the plate for the No. 1 Sooners. The senior slugger launched five home runs, including No. 95, which tied her with former Sooner Lauren Chamberlain for the NCAA career lead in long balls. Over a five-game stretch, Alo hit .600 with 11 RBI, seven extra-base hits and a 1.733 slugging percentage. On Feb. 19, the Hau’ula, Hawai’i native registered back-to-back two-homer games for the first time in her career. Alo notched three hits and scored three times in those two contests with three and five RBI, respectively.

Sandercock put in a top-notch performance last week, posting a 4-0 mark with victories over No. 3 UCLA, No. 11 Texas and No. 24 UCF – all three coming at the St. Pete Clearwater Elite Invitational. The junior righty was part of five-inning combined no-hitter against UCF (four perfect innings with four strikeouts) and also earned a save against No. 19 Michigan. A native of McLean, Va., Sandercock appeared in six contest with three starts, recording a 0.97 ERA, 21 strikeouts, two walks. She held her opposition to a .156 batting average over 21.2 innings of work.
