LOUISVILLE, Ky. – George Washington’s Jenna Cone and USF’s Georgina Corrick captured the Louisville Slugger/NFCA Player and Wilson/NFCA Pitcher of the week honors. The duo was recognized for their outstanding play during the week of April 19-25. 

Cone, a graduate student from Trabuco Canyon, Calif., hit .467 (7-for-15) with three doubles, three home runs, 10 RBI and six runs scored against Saint Louis. She posted a .529 on-base percentage, slugged 1.267 and did not strike out in 16 plate appearances. Cone homered twice, including a grand slam, and drove in six runs in a game-two victory. She added her third long ball of the weekend and four more RBI in the series finale. Additionally, she registered two doubles and two runs scored in game three. 

Corrick held the high-scoring Wichita State offense (7 runs/game) in check, helping the Bull take three-of-four from the 23rd-ranked Shockers on the road in American Athletic Conference action. The junior hurler won all three of her starts, by allowing just two runs on eight hits and striking out 29 in 21 innings of work. Corrick, a Sanford, Fla. native, finished the week with 0.67 ERA, one shutout and held Wichita State to a .114 batting average. In her second start of the weekend, Corrick fanned 12 and did not walk a batter in a three-hit shutout. The AAC Pitcher of the Week, allowed a run in each of her other two starts, striking out 10 (two hits / two walks) and seven (three hits / zero walks) batters, respectively.
