LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Texas A&M slugger Tori Vidales and Florida State hurler Kylee Hanson were named Louisville/Slugger NFCA Division I National Player and Pitcher of the Week, respectively, for games played Feb. 12-18.

Vidales, who hails from La Porte, Texas, played a major role in the sixth-ranked Aggies’ 5-0 week. The senior first baseman connected on two grand slams and four home runs, including a walk-off long ball in a 3-2 win over Iowa.

Vidales’ grand slams came in back-to-back contest against Butler and then-RV Tulsa. She also drove in the game-winning RBI in the first game of the week against Stephen F. Austin. She also added a second home run and knocked in five against the Bulldogs. Over give games, the SEC Player of the Week hit .533 (8-15) with 12 RBI, five runs, a 1.333 slugging percentage and .588 on-base percentage.

Hanson went 3-0 last week over then-No. 14 Minnesota and No. 20 Michigan in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge in Tallahassee, Fla. The senior righty posted a 0.00 ERA, allowing an unearned run on five hits with 21 strikeouts and four walks. Hanson, who was named tournament MVP, held her opponents to a .093 batting average and has not allowed an earned run in her last 22.0 innings of work.

Against the Wolverines, Hanson tossed six innings of two-hit shutout ball with four strikeouts. In her previous start versus the Gophers, she went five innings, allowed a run on two hits with eight punchouts and a walk. The Jupitar, Fla. native recorded nine 1-2-3 innings and did not allow a runner to reach second base in 13 of her 15.2 innings pitched.
