LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Mount Olive’s Kylie Emanuele and Hannah Kilough swept the first weekly awards of 2024 earning Division II Louisville Slugger/NFCA Player and Wilson/NFCA Pitcher of the Week honors for their outstanding performances for contests played Feb. 1-6.

Over six games, Emanuele hit .643 (9-14) with three doubles, three home runs, 13 RBI and 10 runs scored as the Trojans opened the season 6-0. She recorded four two-hit contests, scored twice in five games, slugged 1.500 and reached base at a .588 clip. The senior outfielder’s weekend was highlighted in a 28-0 win over UVA Wise in which she was 2-for-2 with a double, grand slam and six RBI in a record-setting 20-run, first-inning outburst for the Trojans. Emanuele also left the yard against St. Andrews and Virginia Union.

Kilough twirled a pair of five-inning shutouts, which included a no-hitter in a season-opening win over St. Andrews. In the no-hitter, the senior hurler struck out nine, walked two and hit one batter. In her second start of the weekend, she allowed one hit, fanned 12 and issued four free passes against UVA Wise. Over her two starts Kilough struck out 21 and held her opponents to a .032 batting average.
