LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Maryville’s Addison Koth and McKendree’s Sami Huck were named Division II Louisville Slugger/NFCA Player and Wilson/NFCA Pitcher of the Week for contests played March 9-15.
Over a four-game stretch last week, Koth batted .714 with two doubles, six home runs, 14 RBI, six runs and a 2.143 slugging percentage. She posted a 2-for-3 performance against Rockhurst, launching two home runs and driving in six runs. Koth also clubbed two more long balls and registered five RBI against William Jewell to close out the weekend.
Huck went 5-0 last week with a 0.97 ERA, 36 strikeouts and four walks in 31 innings of work. She twirled a pair of shutouts on the road against Truman State and William Jewell and also picked up complete-game wins versus Ashland and Southwest Minnesota State. Huck fanned 11 and did not issue a free pass in her three-hit shutout of the Bulldogs and followed that with a two-hit blanking (9 K) versus the Cardinals.
The awards are voted on by the NFCA Division II Top 25 Poll Committee, which features two member coaches from each of the NCAA’s eight regions.
