LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Nova Southeastern’s Christina D’Agostino and Biola’s Kayla Bousquette were named Division II Louisville Slugger/NFCA Player and Wilson/NFCA Pitcher of the Week for contests played March 16-22.
D’Agostino batted .500, launched three home runs (two grand slams) and drove in 12 runs in a three-game sweep of Rollins in Sunshine State Conference action. She added seven runs, walked three times and slugged 1.400. D’Agostino homered and recorded four RBI in each contest, clubbing her grand slams in games two and three. The freshman added a 3-for-4 outing in the opener with two runs scored and scored three more times in game two.
Bousquette posted a 2-0 mark and a save in a three-game sweep of Hawai’i Pacific. She tossed 13 shutout innings, including a four-hit shutout in game one with six strikeouts and a walk. Bousquette picked up her second win with 4.2 innings of scoreless relief, scattering three hits and fanning four more. She capped off the weekend with a 1.1 inning perfect save with three punchouts. Bousquette finished the weekend scattering seven hits and striking out 15.
The awards are voted on by the NFCA Division II Top 25 Poll Committee, which features two member coaches from each of the NCAA’s eight regions.
