LOUISVILLE, Ky. – UMSL’s Hannah Tomlianovich and Southern Arkansas’ Brinson Rogers earned the Division II Louisville Slugger/NFCA Player and Wilson/NFCA Pitcher of the Week honors for contests played April 7-13. It is a record fourth accolade for Rogers in 2025, becoming the first student-athlete to earn four Player or Pitcher awards in one season.
Over a four-game stretch last week, Tomlianovich batted .706 (12-for-17) with two doubles, a triple, 10 RBI and four runs scored. She recorded four multi-hit contests, did not strikeout and posted a 1.608 OPS, keying the Tritons to doubleheader sweeps on Upper Iowa and Quincy. Tomlianovich registered a career-best four hits (3 RBI, 2 R) in game one against Upper Iowa and followed with a career-high five RBI in game two versus the Peacocks. The junior first baseman also registered three hits, including a double, with two RBI and two runs scored in the second game against Quincy.
Rogers recorded another dominant week in the circle for the ninth-ranked Muleriders. She twirled three complete-game shutouts, including blanking then-No. 10 Harding (2 H, 6 K, 0 BB) on April 7. Rogers went 3-0, fanned 27 batters, walked two and scattered eight hits over 22.1 innings of work. The senior hurler struck out 11 and issued one free pass in a one-hit shutout at East Central. Rogers has posted a miniscule 0.70 ERA, tossed 16 shutouts and struck out 224 batters in 160 innings this season.
The awards are voted on by the NFCA Division II Top 25 Poll Committee, which features two member coaches from each of the NCAA’s eight regions.
