LOUISVILLE, Ky. – CSU Pueblo’s Caitlyn Cole and Adelphi’s Lindsey Hibbs were named 2023 Division II Louisville Slugger/NFCA Player and Wilson/NFCA Pitcher of the Week, respectively. The duo was recognized for their outstanding performances April 10-16.

Cole clubbed five home runs, recorded 10 RBI and slugged 2.200 in a Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference series against UC-Colorado Springs. Over four games, the rookie catcher batted .600, scored nine times, added a double, drew five walks and reached base at a .733 clip. She homered twice and registered three RBI in games one and three, scoring four runs in the latter. Cole became the first player in program history to hit five long balls in a four-game series.

Hibbs keyed Adelphi to an eight-win week, posting a 4-0 record with 0.93 ERA and 57 strikeouts over 30 innings of work. She allowed four earned runs, walked six, scattered 13 hits and held her opposition to a .131 batting average. The junior hurler twirled a perfect game with 19 strikeouts against New Haven, fanning the first 13 batters of the game. It marked her second perfecto of the season. Hibbs also struck out 16 and 13 in complete-game victories over Staten Island and Saint Michael’s (9 inn.).

The Division II weekly awards are voted on by the NFCA Division II Top 25 Committee.
