LOUISVILLE, Ky. –Southern Arkansas’s Christina Hill and Saint Anselm’s Morgan Perry were named 2020 Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division II Player and Wilson/NFCA Pitcher of the Week, respectively, for their outstanding play during games played, Feb. 10-16.

Hill had a monster week at the plate for the seventh-ranked Muleriders (10-2). The senior rightfielder hit .714 (10-14), drove in 14 runs and scored nine more. She matched a Great American Conference (GAC) record with eight RBI versus Pittsburg State and also hit for the cycle versus the Gorillas. Even more impressive is that Hill’s cycle came in the first four innings and was capped off by a grand slam. She opened with a RBI single in the first, tripled in the second and roped a three-run double in the third. The GAC Player of the Week added four hits and five RBI against Upper Iowa. She finished the weekend with three doubles and a 1.286 slugging percentage.

Perry keyed the 14th-ranked Hawks to a 6-0 opening weekend, the best start in program history. The senior righty was 3-0 with a 0.74 ERA and 35 strikeouts to just four walks in 19 innings of work. She tossed a two-hit complete-game shutout with 14 strikeouts in her season debut against Seton Hill. Perry also combined on a four-hit shutout of Shippensburg. She struck out eight and issued two walks in the first five innings. In Perry’s final start of the weekend, the NE10 Pitcher of the Week allowed two runs on four hits with 13 more punchouts in a complete-game victory over West Virginia State.
