LOUISVILLE, Ky. –  Texas A&M University-Commerce’s Mariah Jameyson and Lubbock Christian’s Monique Francois were named the Louisville/Slugger NFCA Division II National Player and Pitcher of the week, respectively. The duo earned the honor for their outstanding play for the week of Feb. 19-25.

Jameyson, who hails Seattle, Wash., had a monstrous outing in a three-game sweep of Missouri Southern State. The senior catcher hit .833 (5-for-6) with three home runs, 10 RBI, six runs scored and a 2.333 slugging percentage. She reached base safely in 10 of her 11 plate appearances with five walks contributing to her .909 on-base percentage. All three of Jameyson’s long balls came in game one, matching a Lone Star Conference record and propelling her into the program lead in career homers. Additionally, she knocked in eight runs in the 11-3 victory.

Francois went 2-0 with a 0.00 ERA, nine strikeouts and two shutouts, including a no-hitter. The junior righty fanned four and walked one in her no-no against St. Edward’s. She also twirled a five-hit shutout with five punchouts and a walk in a five-inning victory against Oklahoma Christian. Francois, a native of Lubbock, Texas, held her opposition to a .132 batting average, while not allowing a run over 12 innings.
