LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Bethany Lutheran’s Aliya Kehler and Virginia Wesleyan’s Lauren Bible claimed the latest 2023 Division III Louisville Slugger/NFCA Player and Wilson/NFCA Pitcher of the Week honors on Tuesday.

Kehler, a freshman catcher from Altona, Manitoba, hit .840 (10-for-12) with seven runs, a double, two home runs, nine runs batted in and a stolen base over the Vikings’ four games — all wins. She logged three multi-hit games, two multi-RBI games and two games with two extra-base hits.

Bible, a sophomore right-hander from Danville, Calif., tossed a perfect game against Ferrum and was 3-0 for the week overall, with six hits allowed, no earned runs, 10 strikeouts and just two walks over 16 innings. The San Ramon High graduate is now 10-1 for the season, accounting for a third of the 13th-ranked (30-8) Marlins’ victories.
