LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Eureka’s Kerrigan Dura and Illinois Wesleyan’s Mackenzie Marquis have been selected as the Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division III National Player and Pitcher of the Week, respectively.

Dura, a freshman infielder from Brimfield, Ill., batted .750 (21-for-28) in an 8-0 week for the (18-2) Red Devils, with 17 runs, 10 doubles, two triples, a homer and 25 RBI. The Brimfield High graduate also walked four times and didn’t strike out once in 32 plate appearances, as she set the Eureka single-season RBI mark (46).

Dura was also perfect in the field in 34 chances (19 putouts, 15 assists).

Meanwhile, sophomore right-hander Marquis earns her first Pitcher of the Week honor for the (15-3) Titans, who are ranked ninth in the latest NFCA Division III Top 25 poll after sweeping nationally-ranked Washington (Mo.) last Tuesday.

The Herscher, Ill., product recorded four of her team’s six wins last week, allowing nine hits, no runs, five walks and fanning 14 over 18.1 innings. Marquis tossed a three-hit gem against Washington and also beat North Park (twice) and Carroll.
