LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Ninety-four student-athletes representing 46 programs received 2016 NFCA NJCAA DI All-Region accolades, announced the Association on Friday afternoon.

These awards honor softball student-athletes from the Association’s three regions with first- and second-team recognitions. NFCA member coaches from each region voted on the teams, and all honorees are now eligible for the 2016 NFCA NJCAA Division I All-American squads.

Three programs, one from each region, lead the way with highest number of selections across all teams. No. 1 Tyler Community College (Midwest), No. 2 College of Central Florida (South), and No. 6 and National Champions Butler Community College (West) were each represented by five selections. Chipola College, Gulf Coast State College, and No. 3 Northwest Florida State College from the South Region, Lake Land College (Midwest) and Western Nebraska Community College (West) collected four honorees apiece.

All five of the Patriots’ selections were given first-team nods. Not far behind, the Apaches earned four first-team plaudits. No. 11 Florida Southwestern State College, Howard College, and Chipola College earned three first-team plaudits. Four other programs received two first-team recognitions.
