SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The 2020 USA Softball Junior Olympic (JO) Cup saw three champions crowned with the Tennessee Mojo organization walking away victorious in the 14-Under and 16-Under divisions, while LLG DPS - Corn (Minn.) captured the 18-Under crown.
TN Mojo 2024 – Ross emerged as the 14-U champions after piecing together 14 hits in a 10-4 win over Florida Impact 05 – Gatewood. Despite going down by one run early in the game, Mojo 2024 – Ross took the lead in the top of the second and never looked back. Four batters posted multi-hit games, including three-hit performances from Brinli Bain and Willa Ford.
For the 16-U division, TN Mojo earned a 5-0, shutout win over Gold Coast Hurricanes – Hammonds. Lauren Derkowski struck out eight to earn the win in the circle, while a two-RBI performance from Aubrey Barnhart fueled the Mojo offense.
In the 18-Under division, LLG DPS – Corn won their first USA Softball JO Cup title with a 3-1 win over Wildfire 18U - Paulson. It was truly a team effort for the LLG DPS – Corn utilized nearly every player on their roster. Taking advantage its deep roster, four pitchers saw time in the circle, while six batters recorded hits in their win.
