Type: drill

Objective: We use this drill to help tune-up an already-developed curveball. When a curveball is breaking too far outside, this drill will help the pitcher regain control by giving her a visual path of the ball.

Execution: Set a bucket tee eight to 10 feet in front of the circle, and raise the tee waist high. The tee should be centered or slightly left of the pitcher’s stance on the mound.

Have the pitcher throw the curveball so it goes to the right of the bucket tee and then breaks outside. As she can throw the pitch with ease around the tee, move the tee closer to home to better develop the curve.
