Equipment Needed:
Two fungo hitters, two buckets of balls

Purpose:
This drill gets the fielders to dive and field the ball completely outstretched. The drill also keeps everyone busy.

Explanation:
This is very simple, but effective drill.

Each fungo hitter stands at a base with a bucket of balls. (Fungo hitters can stand at home and second base, or at first and third base.) The fielders line up at the bases where the fungo hitters are not positioned. The fungo hitters hit ground balls to the line fielding forehands, then hits to the opposite line so they are fielding backhands. After a player fields a grounder, she tosses it to the nearest fungo hitter, runs around the hitter and gets in the other line.
