Lacy Lee Baker
Responsibilities: Liaison to other organizations, Finances, Management, Sponsorships, Travel Ball liaison, Convention Director, Proposals and Bylaws, Bylaws Committee, Ethics Committee, Publisher of Fastpitch Delivery.
Bio: Lacy Lee Baker was named executive director of the NFCA in the summer of 1994, and serves the association as the primary liaison with the NFCA board of directors, as well as the travel ball and affiliate membership. She also represents the association’s views to other organizations and services the NFCA sponsors’ accounts.
Organizing and planning the NFCA National Convention is also a key duty, as well as publisher of Fastpitch Delivery.
The Jackson, Miss., native brings more than 30 years of experience in the sports industry to the NFCA. This includes seven years with the NCAA, where she served as assistant and associate director of championships.
At the NCAA, Baker administered all three NCAA softball championships. Prior to that, she worked for the Los Angeles Olympic Organizing Committee as project director and editor of Olympic Record, the official daily program of the 1984 Olympic Games. In addition, she worked on three college campuses -- Truman State University (Associate Athletics Director), Stanford University (Director of Publications), and San Diego State University (Assistant Sports Information Director).
Baker earned her bachelor’s degree in education with a major in physical education from Delta State (Miss.) in 1976. She went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Southern Mississippi in 1977. She is married to NFCA Hall of Famer Jay Miller. Their daughter Nikki was a collegiate softball student-athlete at Lake Forest College, and currently is the assistant softball coach at Wittenberg University.
