TUESDAY, DECEMBER 8NFCC 403: Position Play & Individual Defensive Skills (Additional Fee) Registration: 8:00-9:00 AM 9:00 AM-6:00 PM • Avalon 23 & 29 Instructors: Katie Repole (Clemson); Tony Smith (Colorado State) Go in-depth on the defensive side of the game with this two-day course from the NFCA. Join three high-level instructors as they break down the skills, drills, and techniques necessary to play defense at a championship level. Learn individual fundamental components for every defensive position, team defensive drills to take runs off the scoreboard, and challenge what you think you know as you talk shifts and alignments. Get your notebook ready; this class is going to be a goldmine of information. *This course qualifies for one credit towards an NFCA defensive endorsement REGISTER HERE

Pre-Con: Beyond the Barrel: Building the Complete Hitter (Additional Cost) 1:00-4:00 PM • Avalon 23 & 29 Instructors: Beth Lazarus (Villanova - Sports Performance Coach) A great hitter has more than a great swing. Approach, preparation, competitiveness, body awareness, and more all play into the output achieved in the batter's box. This three-hour seminar will cover strength & conditioning, mental training, the role of technology, approach/intentionality at the plate, and more to create a toolbox for coaches that goes beyond exit velocity and batting average. Equality Coaches Alliance: LGBTQ 9:00-10:00 PM • Avalon 25-26 Join other LGBTQ and ally coaches to discuss various topics on diversity and inclusion. It's a great forum to ask questions, share information, or just listen to best practices for helping student-athletes thrive as valued members of their teams. Discussion on university and athletic department policies and resources for staff, coaches, and administrators along with training for athletic teams and staff will be addressed.
THURSDAY, DECEMBER 10NFCA Caucuses Only division/group-specific NFCA members may attend and propose items for consideration by the group and have a voice/vote during their respective caucus.The premier business event of the Convention brings together the respective membership groups to discuss current issues, review and discuss pending legislation, create action plans for future changes to the game and collaboratively shape the sport for the future.
