LAS VEGAS (Dec. 9, 2021) – Highlighted by a record-setting Exhibit Show, day two of the 2021 NFCA Convention featured the membership getting down to business, an entertaining and engaging mentoring session, fireside chats, the first four speaker sessions, which included the return of Down the Hallway, and a social gathering hosted by PGF and Diamond Sports in the spacious Caesar’s Forum.
With a record 138 companies and batting cage education, attendees mingled with vendors and learned about the latest in equipment, apparel and innovative products, while exploring the largest-ever Exhibit Show space in Convention history. The final 90 minutes were capped off with the Happy Hour presented by League Apps.
Following early-morning Boot Camp and Yoga sessions and a hearty breakfast, the membership discussed the important issues with their respective caucus meetings. After spending three hours discussing the latest hot topics in softball, attendees headed over to the largest Exhibit Show space in NFCA Convention history.
In conjunction with the Exhibit Show, the digital auction is back and the bidding wars started at noon on Wednesday and will conclude at noon on Friday. Find your favorite companies and bid on your favorite items from the comfort of your phone. It is an opportunity to snag great deals on equipment, technology, gift certificates and more.
Coaches checked out the first of two Drills, Drills, Drills sessions followed by a packed house to witness an in-person version of “Down the Hallway” with legendary Hall of Fame women’s basketball coach Muffet McGraw, who was joined on stage by Notre Dame coaching peer Deanna Gumpf.
Emceed by NFCA Board members Stephanie Bagwell (Francis Marion) and Lindsay Leftwich (LSU), the NFCA scholarship winners were recognized and mentors volunteered to give advice and life lessons to young head and assistant coaches.
Additionally, mentors were asked to “pay it forward” donating money toward great prizes and educational opportunities for the mentees, which included 2022 Convention, NFCC and NFCA Clinic registrations.
Additional education continued after the mentoring session with three Fireside chats. In a laid-back setting, attendee-led discussion covered topics such as pitching, hitting & technology, and energy & time management.
Be sure to check out day two of the Exhibit Show, which opens its doors to members at 9 a.m. and runs through 3:00 p.m. Batting cage education continues, along with the Sports Attack raffle, HitTrax & The Natasha Watley Foundation Present: Home Run Derby with the Pros (and Coaches) and Netting Professionals batting cage giveaway.
