LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Rawlings Sporting Goods Company, Inc. revealed the eight recipients of 2024 NWAC Rawlings Gold Glove Award, presented by the NFCA, on Thursday afternoon.
Four 2024 NFCA NWAC All-Americans – Mt. Hood Community College’s Bella Carazo, Clackamas Community College’s Skylar Groesbeck, North Idaho College’s Hayden Rockwell and Walla Walla Community College’s Drew Hashimoto - highlight this year’s squad.
Carazo, earning the spot at pitcher, represents one of seven programs in 2024. Joining her to complete the battery is Treasure Valley Community College catcher Shay McDaniel.
Groesbeck and Rockwell captured honors at first base and shortstop with Lower Columbia College’s Leanna Russell at second base and Douglas College third baseman Clare VanSpall completing the infield honorees.
Center fielder Hashimoto, who also won the NWAC’s regular-season batting title, is joined in the outfield by her Walla Walla teammate Chloe Robinson in right field. Due to no qualifying nominations, there is not a left field winner in 2024.
Recipients of the Rawlings Gold Glove Awards, presented by the NFCA, were selected by a full NFCA NWAC membership vote following regional voting to identify the finalists at each position. The group utilized fielding statistics and school-submitted video to closely examine finalists and select the winners at every defensive position. Any student-athlete that competed in the current championship year and was nominated by their head coach who is a member in good standing with the NFCA was eligible for consideration for this prestigious accolade.
